Payment and Reimbursement Process
The usual process is:
- The client pays the transport invoice directly
- An itemised invoice is provided
- The client submits the invoice to their Home Care Package provider
- Reimbursement is considered based on the client’s care plan and provider approval
This process keeps things simple and allows care managers to assess each outing on its individual merits.
Important to Note
- Home Care Package funding may cover transport when it supports wellbeing and community participation
- Approval is not automatic and depends on the provider and the individual care plan
- Clients are encouraged to discuss outings with their care manager in advance
